Description
This position will focus on the execution of projects from design through
commissioning and qualification as required, with a primary focus on
commissioning. Following successful project completion, this position will
transition accountability to operation of the electrical systems that support
the newly commissioned facilities. The senior electrical engineer will be
accountable for:
Project Delivery: including project approach and resource needs, options
analysis, electrical systems and equipment design, engineering document
development, and system ownership through the project delivery phases of plan,
design, procure, construct, commission and qualification for facilities; and
Technical Analysis: including electrical system and technology plant
fits, capacity and equipment utilization, value engineering, sustainable design
(energy efficient), constructability and assessment of applicable new
technologies to balance performance, cost reliability, and maintainability.
Commissioning Accountability: This position will be accountable for the
successful commissioning of the electrical systems.
-Develop the ****ing and commissioning (T&C) strategy. Review and
approve T&C plan.
-Establish electrical system inspection check-list and protocol.
-Evaluate the lifecycle cost for electrical equipment selection.
-Provide general electrical engineering advice and support to project
teams and internal customers as required.
-Lead contracted engineering and commissioning staff.
-Supervise, review and challenge design and optimize electrical systems in
close cooperation with other engineering disciplines and end-user departments
-Support systems qualification according to Chinese/FDA/EMEA requirements
Areas of expertise include systems and equipment for primary
(35KV/10KV/400V), medium and low voltage power service, emergency power and
UPS, lighting, and grounding, as well as interface requirements for fire alarm,
security and voice/data systems.
This position requires coordination of client and/or contract engineering
resources. Facilitating meetings, directing engineering firms and consultants,
field supervision, equipment inspection and start-up, construction trade
coordination, and training of operational staff are often required. Success in
these areas will depend upon the individual’s ability to effectively
communicate, collaborate, and foster positive interactions with team members,
while diligently managing adherence to project scope, budget and schedule.
